Writing Goals: Silence

Miriam E. A.Thompson > Miriam’s Blog > About Me > Writing Goals: Silence

One thing I have learned to do since being a parent is to long for silence.

The only way I could enjoy that is late at night when the kids are in bed or in the pre-dawn hours.

Staying still has allowed me to get centered. I find myself in deep contemplation. I may meditate, say prayers, or even let my mind go blank to keep calm.

Via Giphy

I can release all the stress building up inside. There are no distractions.

Just stillness.

My goal is to make it a consistent practice to be still in silence, meditation and prayer. I want to be in tune with my mind, body, and spirit.

Putting this into practice allows for my body to recharge. Which gets those creative juices flowing.

Main Takeaway

Rest.

Recharge.

Renew your spirit.
